As part of Vancouver’s Capture Photography Festival the Vancouver Maritime Museum presents a display of work by Maria Steernberg, owner of Sea Snaps Marine Photography Ltd. This exhibition highlights the beauty of Vancouver’s maritime setting and our beautiful coast line through a series of themes; the working waterfront, cruising, nature and disaster.

Sea Snaps has been a fixture on the Pacific West Coast for the past 35 years. From her bright pink boat, Maria has photographed captains, crews and their vessels, both commercial and recreational. Sea Snaps photography has graced many marine publications covers and marine articles.  Documenting marine activity within the marine world is her passion. Maria has made her mark on the marine industry through her unique use of medium format cameras and her uncompromising standards.

The VMM is a world-leading maritime museum and a centre for dialogue, education and research regarding the maritime heritage of the Pacific and Arctic Oceans.

Capture Photography Festival is the annual not-for-profit Festival strives to nurture emerging talent, engage community, and spark public dialogue about photography as an art form and a vessel for communication.
