An exhibition of artwork produced onboard the SS Master in the summer of 2015.
During the summer months of 2015 artists placed their easels and stools on the ship to paint for the day. Some created realistic images; others took their impressions to a more abstracted level. Most of the paintings in the exhibition were made 'alla prima': without any preliminary sketches or drawings. Many of the artists told me about the great experience of being out on the water, connected with other artists, painting away for the day - a wonderful free outdoor residency!
The artwork in this exhibition is a compilation of the work made this last summer. It is also a celebration of historic Vancouver and the beautiful historic steamship SS Master.
The painting on the right is by artist Karen Holland.
